Geothermal Modeling with FEFLOW

This three-day training course, in advance of the GeoTHERM - expo & congress in Offenburg, gives an introduction to the numerical simulation of geothermal applications using FEFLOW.

Both deep and shallow geothermics are discussed.

In shallow geothermics, for instance the numerical modeling of single and arrays of borehole heat exchangers is of importance. These issues and their handling in FEFLOW are explained. Of particular importance for deep geothermics is the coupling of flow and transport processes via temperature and pressure dependency of fundamental process parameters such as fluid density and viscosity, and thermal conductivity. Furthermore the modeling of fracture flow is often an issue at stake.

Requirements: Experience in flow modelling with FEFLOW.
